N-Ethyl-2C-B, also known as 2C-B-E, is a recreational designer drug with psychedelic effects.[1][2] It was first synthesised in the 1990s,[3] and was first identified as a new psychoactive substance in Finland in 2007.[4] It is specifically listed as an illegal drug in Finland,[5] and controlled under analogue provisions in a number of other jurisdictions. The drug is a potent serotonin 5-HT2A receptor full agonist, with an EC50Tooltip half-maximal effective concentration of 3.39 nM and an EmaxTooltip maximal efficacy of 106%.[6] It is a controlled substance in Canada under phenethylamine blanket-ban language.[7]
